Gyeonggi Housing & Urban Development Corporation (GH) announced on the 9th that it has selected five companies for its "Base Camp" program, which supports overseas market entry for companies based in Pangyo Techno Valley 1 and 2. The five selected companies are Mangoslab (AI deep tech), SeltaSquare and Exosystems (AI bio-health), and JL Standard and Flipsion Korea (AI).
"Base Camp" is a GH initiative designed to support Pangyo-based companies seeking to enter the US market, specifically Silicon Valley. Selected companies receive assistance covering flights, accommodation, transportation, and local programming.
Throughout May, the five companies will work with Team of Wakers — a global educational institution and accelerator — on one-on-one capability assessments, mentoring sessions, and the development of global market entry strategies. From June 2nd, they will spend approximately two weeks in Silicon Valley taking part in a range of opportunity programs, including meetings with local Korean-American entrepreneurs and IR pitching sessions.
Notably, from June 11 to 13, the companies will participate in IR pitching at Plug & Play 2024 Summer Summit, a startup accelerating event, with the goal of attracting global investors.
GH President Kim Se-yong commented: "We hope the startups selected for GH Base Camp will grow into influential companies in international markets, and beyond that, create synergies alongside other Pangyo companies as they continue to develop."
